Itinerary

The first route takes you through the nature park of Het Twiske, where you can discover nature in a very special landscape. You will see how the Twiske mill drains the polder and makes it suitable for cultivation.

The 16th century mill town, stands in a rural landscape of peat meadows, where the scent of cocoa mingles with the silhouette of 17th century mills and houses, while boats sail quietly on the river.

We will watch a demonstration of clog making from a log of wood, until a clog is completely made in front of us. Afterwards we can try them on and take photos, or even put them on and decorate them ourselves.

Edam is famous for its cheese, picturesque canals and historic 17th century architecture. Its gardens, bursting with hyacinths and hydrangeas, and its cosy tea houses make it a real dream town.

Time to take a break and enjoy one of Holland's culinary specialities, a free cheese tasting, surrounded by cows, sheep, goats and lush green meadows. Would you like to accompany this tasting with a glass of wine or a tasting of local beers? Come and taste and delight your palate.

An old fishing village on the banks of the Markermeer. Famous for its delicious fish, its traditional costumes and its location on the edge of the largest freshwater lake in Europe. We will stroll along the famous Dijk and eat its typical dishes.

The island of Marken is a unique engineering masterpiece. This picturesque village, which today looks like a postcard, consists of wooden houses, a lake, houses on stilts, terpen and a fascinating secret history.
